Zero Tolerance Policy

All our staff are trained and dedicated to serve you and you will be treated with courtesy and respect at all times. In return, we ask that you treat our administrative and clinical staff with the same courtesy and respect.
We have a ZERO TOLERANCE approach to any verbal, aggressive and violent abuse and behaviour towards our staff or other patients. We respectfully advise you that this behaviour will not be tolerated.
If this behaviour is shown towards our staff and/or other patients it may result in you being removed from our Practice list.

Appointments

Appointments are booked for a 15-minute duration, and the reception staff will enquire if you need any additional time for procedures etc. Please feel free to ask for an extended appointment time if you believe you will require this. If the appointment cannot be kept, we require 2 hours’ notice prior to the booked appointment time otherwise a late cancellation fee of the full consultation fee does need to apply. We are also required to apply this as a charge to missed appointments.

*Please note – No further consultations can be booked with any Doctor at the Practice until all outstanding accounts are paid in full. The DNA/ missed appointment fee will automatically apply however if there is an extenuating circumstance why an appointment was missed, please email Management at practicemanager@albanyhills.com.au

Immunisations and Injections

Please be aware that ALL immunisations and injections can only be booked during the below surgery hours –

Monday to Thursday:       8.30am – 5pm
Friday:                                 8.30am – 4pm
Saturday:                            8.30am – 11am

Waiting Times

Sometimes our GPs are delayed by patients with urgent or complex issues.
We apologise if you’re asked to wait and thank you for your patience.

If a telehealth appointment has been booked, we please ask that you have your mobile phone with you at your allocated appointment time. If the Doctor’s phone call is not answered at this time or within 1 hour from the appointment time, then a non-attendance fee of $50 may be applicable.

Billing

Albany Hills Radius Medical Centre is a private billing Practice which has proved necessary to maintain the standard of care provided. Adults and children of all ages will be privately billed. Our current fee schedule can be viewed under FAQs or alternatively speak with our friendly Reception staff for further details.

Telehealth And New Patient Appointments

All telehealth and new patient appointments require credit/debit card details before the booking can be confirmed.  If you do not enter these details, your booking will be cancelled in 30 minutes and an advice sent to your email address.  Payment is not debited to your card until after your consultation with your GP.

If you do not cancel your appointment 2 hours prior to the booked time or not attend, then a $50 DNA fee for standard consultations or a $100 DNA fee for longer consultations may be charged to your nominated card.

The Government only rebates short (less than 20 minutes) telehealth consultations, so if your telehealth consultation lasts longer than 20 minutes, your government rebate will still only provide the shorter consult rebate.
Please be aware that we are unable to provide long telehealth consultations for DVA patients, unless it is for mental health matters.

Medicare Rebate

We currently have in place the Medicare Easyclaim rebate system which provides you with a quick, convenient and secure method of claiming your Medicare rebate without having to visit Medicare. After paying for your consultation in full (by cash, credit or EFTPOS) you are able to use a cheque or savings (EFTPOS) card to receive your Medicare Rebate within seconds. Please note – your Medicare rebate can only be deposited into cheque or savings accounts, even if you used a credit card to pay for your consultation.

Worker's Compensation

Visits for a work related injury/illness are treated at the expense of the injured Worker and payable at time of consultation. It is also the injured worker’s responsibility to forward all medical and accounting paperwork to their employer or WorkCover Queensland. Please inform the doctor at the time of consultation that it is a WorkCover related visit, and provide the doctor will all relevant information and necessary paperwork.

Repeat Prescriptions/Requests

Prescriptions provide sufficient medication to last until your specific condition needs to be reviewed. Scripts and Misplaced/updated Referrals, Pathology or Scan/X-ray requests all require an appointment. Any requests for these items may be considered and if approved, a $50 fee will apply.

Specialist Referrals

Referrals for Specialists are usually written at time of consultation. With this in mind all referrals will require an appointment to be made. Due to the continuing changes in Specialist consultation fees, we advise our patients to contact their referred Specialists’ rooms for confirmation of any out of pocket costs. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE CAN A DOCTOR BACK DATE A REFERRAL

Phone Messages

The Practice offers appointments which are Medicare rebateable telehealth consultations if you wish to speak to your GP.

Reminder System

The Practice has an excellent reminder system in place using a computerised recall program for follow up of immunisations, pap smears, blood tests, health assessments, etc. You will receive either a secure message link to your mobile phone or a personal letter when a recall is due.

Interpreter Service

Vaccinations for travel are available through our Practice but it is highly recommended that you speak with your doctor at a prior consultation to ensure that the necessary vaccinations are on hand and required for your travel destinations.
